Dear Magician,

I am the Wizard of Wellington, writing out of the mouth of the fish. I’ve been a practicing artist all my life, across many disciplines: drawing, photography, metalwork, needlework, writing, and folk-singing. I am interested in record-keeping and true seeing. I tell stories about things I see and hear, and things I think. By telling tales, I offer the medicine of my own practice as an antidote to the junk-thinking of the so-called real world. My aim is humble re-enchantment.

I whisper into your eyes:

On free movement of energy:

Magic is a gift-economy thing. What I have, I freely give. What I receive, I receive with gratitude. The gifts I get back are energetic fuel for my work. It’s OK if you’re poor: to support me in non-monetary ways, push the heart button, leave a comment, or share a post.

Support human craft!

As a hardened Neo-Luddite, I give you my personal guarantee that every word and image on Dear Magician is 100% human-crafted. Down with the tyranny of the clock! Down with technology’s dumb seductions! Up with first principles! Up with wild time— with the deep present— with celestial bodies, tides, blood, and sap!
