In Defense of Paradoxical Reality

A Rant

Do you understand that the opposite of fascism is unified purpose despite ideological difference? Do you understand that obsession with / policing of ideological difference is a massive, massive, waste of energy? True reality is ALWAYS complex, paradoxical, and unfixed. That is the nature of truth. In fact, a simple story is a fascist hallmark. What we are seeing in the USA is a demonstration of fixed belief in the story of good guys and bad guys that is the origin myth of that country, 'the USA', itself a shining myth built atop a filthy shadow-truth.

Can you understand that the Master's tools will never dismantle the Master's house, that if we take up the bosses’ ways we morph into the boss, like the pigs in Animal Farm? I'm sick of wasting energy on trivialities, I'm sick of having to keep my mouth shut so as not to offend people who are obsessing over petty bullshit. Can you see that silence might be polite tolerance rather than agreement, that people might not want to fight you? Do you understand that only in unity is strength, that we need to cease taking the bait of divide and rule, and stop scrapping amongst ourselves?

None of us choose the bodies and circumstances we're born into. Structural oppression is real, but also, can we get back to our common humanity? Otherwise we're all fucked. Humans are human, we are all the same species of animal, that is how we are the same, we inhabit these weird upright bipedal bodies, we eat, shit, and die. Our bodies change, that is an inevitability, until we are not young and beautiful and the main character of the Universe any more, and our minds change too, maybe we were wrong about some things. Can you understand that you might be wrong about some things? That there's a possibility you will later change your mind?

We are a communal animal, community is where you are, it can suck, you have to put up with people you disagree with and even hate, nevertheless they are your relatives, be kind to them, see that they behave as they do for reasons, see that they are the walking wounded. Maybe it's a win that they're alive, up, and dressed. Maybe you would do as they did if you had lived their life. Do you really think you will change people's minds by bullying and belittling them?

In the small world of human interaction, in the communities we live in, as above, so below. Patterns are patterns, don't behave like a fascist thinking that you're a righteous good guy, it's boring and stupid but primarily, it's a waste of time and energy that we badly need to conserve in order to resist the blandishments of those who would be Overlords of the World. Snap out of it! Get off the fucking phone and touch some grass! The Internet is Not Real, it is weaponised fakeness.¹ Take some action in your immediate vicinity to make things better where you are. Get in touch with the medicine of simple real things. Consider, when you act and speak, whether you are planting seeds that will grow and weaving webs of connection, or whether you are wasting time and energy up there in the thin air of arguments that can never be won or done.

Be curious, be honest, be in love with things, be an upholder of Right Story,² be willing to evolve, be soft, bend, try to act ethically, try to see clearly, try to have a sense of humour maybe, try to make something good and real, even if it's a bit shit at least you tried, keep trying.
